The Canada Japan Society, the Japanese Visitors Association, and the JET Programme Alumni Association of Toronto welcome everyone aboard the CJS-JAVA-JETAA Boat Cruise Fundraiser on Sunday July 10th.

The summer boat cruise has become an annual event for local Japan-related NPOs, and this year CJS, JAVA, and JETAA have taken the lead and made this year’s a fundraiser for those affected by the March 11th disasters in Japan.  All proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre’s Japan Disaster Relief Fund.  In addition to ticket sales, we will be accepting donations throughout the night, and will also offer all guests the opportunity to express themselves in our collection of “Messages of Support” to Japan, so please feel free to share your thoughts, gratitudes, and experiences with us.

The event will take place on the Stella Borealis, a 280-person cruise boat, and will feature DJs, dancing, two cash bars, and an unbelievable view of Toronto’s skyline at sunset.  A special door prize will be given to anyone who comes in their yukata, jimbei, or any other traditional/cultural summer clothing, Japanese or otherwise.

To : JETAA Toronto(JET Programme Toronto Alumni Association)

April 20,2011

More than one month has passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake has hit the nation. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to all the people who have suffered as a result of this disaster, both Japanese nationals and non-Japanese including JET Programme participants, and their families.

I understand that JETAA chapters across Canada are working for the earthquake relief efforts in Japan by means of a series events including the very successful JETAA Toronto JAPAN BENEFIT PARTY which was held on April 1. I extend my heartfelt thanks for such assistance from your organization. I am grateful for the fact that many JET alumni have prayed for Japan and extended support to us. I am deeply impressed by the warm encouragement.

2011/12 Executive Committee

At our AGM/Shinnenkai in January we voted in a brand new JETAA Toronto Executive for 2011/2012.  All positions will officially start in April, and we are currently working hard on making it a smooth transition.

Several of the past year’s Executive members have had some exciting life changes this past year, from marriage to babies to moves overseas, so we have a lot of new faces this year in addition to a few returning veterans.

JETAA Toronto would like to acknowledge all of the effort and energy that the 2010/11 Executive put into the past year. It’s only through your hard work that we have been able to accomplish what we have.

Here is the full list of the new 2011/2012 JETAA Toronto Executive . . .
