JETAA Welcome Back! Returners Pub Night / Nuit Blanche 2014 Review by Nam Chuong
Saturday, October 4th marked our JETAA Welcome Back! Returners Pub Night / Nuit Blanche 2014 event.
Every year it’s really interesting to see the different groups of genki JETs who come out each time. This year a large group of returning JETs, JETAA members, and other friends came out to the Duke of York for food, drinks, and of course, reminiscing about Japan. It was great to see the new returners eager to share their experiences and the long time returners have the feeling of ânatsukashii’ as they listened on. It was also interesting to see some familiar faces among the returning JETs as a few of them had attended our JETAA Toronto Orientation the previous year and remembered our genki JETAA Toronto executive members! đ
After dinner everybody broke into smaller groups and headed out to explore Nuit Blanche on a scavenger hunt. There were plenty of sites to see and many tasks needed to be done throughout the night. Some of the challenges included finding and taking a photo with the âGlobal Rainbowâ which showcased a rainbow that was shone from the CN Tower across the city, âHalf-lifeâ where people were infected by a âvirusâ and had their faces painted with glow-in-the-dark paint, and âWalk among Worldsâ which showcased 7,000 beach balls that represented the 7 billion inhabitants in the world.
The race in the scavenger hunt was really close, with the top two teams coming in only minutes of each other. In the end, the winning team was Go Team Us! who won three $10 gift certificates for Sansotei Ramen! Congratulations!

It was a close race, and Go Team Us! submitted all of their answers and photos a mere 12 minutes before Team WoW, who finished in 2nd place. Go Team Us! has won three (3) $10 gift cards to Sansotei Ramen, which also happens to be our Ramen Romp location of the month!
