The Nakamichi Art Show was hosted as a joint event with the Japanese Visitor’s Association of Toronto (JAVA) and was held at Goodfellas Gallery from Friday November 22nd to Sunday November 24th.
The party for the show opening was hosted on Friday night, and over the course of that evening, more than a hundred people came through the gallery to take in the variety of art on hand.
As the theme of the show, “Nakamichi” or “Middle Distance” had left a goodly amount of room for all manner of submissions, it was great to see works that ranged from photos of Japan, to hand-drawn sketches, and, in one remarkable case, Japan-inspired pottery. The artists who submitted also covered a wide breadth of the population of the Japanese community in Toronto. Several of the artists are profiled here.
