This year’s annual JETAA Toronto Midnight Curling took place on Saturday, February 20th. With a cool demeanour and a sweeping air of fabulousness, over 20 JETs – with friends in tow – enjoyed a fine set of refreshments at Loons Restaurant & Pub before heading out to the High Park Curling Club to rock out on the curling rink! As this was our fifth year playing at the club, we would like to thank them for hosting us once again.
After being instructed on the finer points of using our brooms, keeping safe on the rink, and putting our heart and soul into the game, the group jumped right to playing!
Regardless of varying skill levels, teams all took the opportunity to shout intensely at one another for a chance to score more points.
Despite it being played on ice, those present felt the warmth of everyone’s passion for fun.
Sadly, time seemed to fly by for us – before we knew it, it was already rather late – and we began trickling out with tired eyes, but uplifted spirits.
There was even a late-night popcorn feast for the last few stragglers! All in all, this year was another grand success and a great display of our Canadian pride; this event even had an added bonus of an international JET participant from the UK. Now that’s the way to have fun around here!
For all those who missed this great event, Midnight Curling will be back again next year. If you feel like you’re missing our company, join us at our next great event: Rock Climbing!
