It’s September, and that means TIFF in Toronto. The Toronto International Film Festival, which will be running from Sept 4-14 is a great way to check out the best films from around the world including Japan. Looking to spice up your chilly first week of November?

Check out the Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival. The Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival is a unique showcase of contemporary Asian cinema and work from the Asian diaspora.  The festival runs November 5-16th in locations in Toronto and Richmond Hill.

Call For Submissions: Reel Asian Film Festival

Are you an independent film maker?  Does your production involve an  East/South/Southeast Asian/Asian North American and Asian diasporic artists in a key creative role (behind the camera and on screen)?  If so, the Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival wants you to submit your masterpiece for their 17th annual festival!

Reel Asian is Canada’s largest and longest-running showcase dedicated to contemporary Asian cinema and media arts from Asia, North America and all over the world. Annually, the festival attracts thousands of attendees to screenings, industry events and galas. We invite you to submit new independent films and videos of all genres by and/or about East, South and Southeast Asians. The 17th Annual Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival will take place November 5-10 in Toronto and November 15-16 in Richmond Hill.

The early bird submission deadline is April 30, 2013 (no fee).  The final submission deadline is July 2, 2013 ($20 fee). (more…)
