It’s that time of year again – the new JETs are preparing to leave for their exciting new lives in Japan! Once again the Consulate in collaboration with JETAA is hosting the Pre-departure Orientation Toronto (PDOT).
We need volunteer presenters to parlay their their wisdom to the new recruits. We are specifically looking for recent returnees, however all JETAA members are welcome to volunteer.
The dates of the conference are Saturday July 10th to Monday July 12th. We are mostly looking for volunteers for Sunday, with one exception noted below. The commitment would be for the full day.
The seminars that we are recruiting speakers for are:
– Technology
– Travelling while on JET
– First Time Teaching
– Japanese Culture, Customs and Politics
– Office Relationships
– Transportation and Car Ownership
– The Rural JET Experience
– Money (Saturday)
Presenters would be asked to be available throughout the day for administrative help, speaking with the new JETs informally, lunch in regional groups, etc.
Lastly, we are currently recruiting a keynote speaker. If you know of anyone who would be a good fit for this role please contact us too.
