Kodo Drummers Wow The Crowd

On Friday, March 11 a group of 15 JETAA members and friends attended the Kodo Drummers’ show at the Sony Centre in downtown Toronto. In light of the disaster that had happened in Japan less than 24 hours earlier it was a night of mixed emotions. We had looked forward to the night for months but our hearts went out to those in Japan.

Faito, Faito, Let’s Go Carps!

Dragon Boat

Interested in a getting a great workout and meeting a boat-load of fellow JET alumni at the same time? Why not join the JETAA Fighting Carps dragonboat team this summer?

For those not familiar with the sport, dragonboats are powered by 20 paddlers, plus a “sweep” or steerer at the back and a drummer keeping rhythm from the front.

Art & Photo Show A Roaring Success

On Saturday, March 5th, our steaming hot art show was a blazing success at the Gladstone Art Bar. Bellies full of wine and music in our limbs, things really heated up as the room was filled to the brim with JET alumni and friends of JET alike. We had close to 70 people in attendance, presenting a terrific opportunity to see some old faces and make new friends.

AJET International Statement on Earthquake

 

March 12, 2011


On March 11, 2011 a large earthquake of a magnitude of 8.8 hit northern Japan, causing huge fires, landslides, radiation leaks, and widespread infrastructure damage as well as generating tsunamis in several regions. A broad area has been affected by these disasters, and problems vary from region to region. For up-to-date information, check news sources that are local to the region in which your family member or friend resides.
