On Saturday, March 28, a brave crew of Toronto JETAA members entered the world of trampolines, dodgeball and foam pits at Sky Zone Toronto for the very first time!
We trickled into the spacious indoor Sky Zone Trampoline Park before 9pm. Children and teenagers ran around in bright orange socks, parents trudged along with sweaty foreheads and smiles on their faces, and in the distance, little specks of bouncing people could be seen through black netting surrounding the trampolines.
Unfazed by the high energy and excited yells echoing in the gym, we headed to the the main court and a sea of trampolines with 90 minutes to jump to our heart’s content. The rules were simple: only one person per trampoline at a time, no horseplay, no double flips, and no piggy-packs.
In addition to the Main Court, we explored the Foam Zone, Sky Slam and Ultimate Dodgeball area. In the Foam Zone, we jumped, flew, and flipped from a trampoline runway into a pit filled with 10,000 foam cubes. At Sky Slam, we used trampoline launch pads to bounce ten feet in the air, attempting to harness our inner NBA dunk. Finally, at Ultimate Dodgeball, the JETAA crew faced a hard-looking group of guys, and after rounds of whipping, dodging, and catching the balls, the JETAA team came out victorious!
Before we knew it, 90 minutes had flown by, and we ended the night with pizza, soft drinks, and wonderful burning sensation all over our bodies (which, by the way, some of us continued to feel the next day). All in all, it was an amazing event, an even more amazing workout, and perhaps something we can try again next year!
