JETs Hit The Slopes – And Survive!

Winter’s gifts might seem hard to appreciate sometimes in Toronto, but strap a plank or two on your feet and it changes everything!

A group of JETAA members and friends found that you don’t have to travel to the Japanese Alps for some excellent skiing and boarding at our first ever JETAA Ski Trip event in February.

Thanks to our friends at ISX, we were able to get some special rates on tickets and rentals, and boarded the yellow school buses up to Snow Valley, near Barrie, ON.

The group was pretty split between boarders and skiers, and most took advantage of a group lesson. Then it was time to hit the hills, shred some tight turns, and try not to fall off the chairlifts. The weather was gorgeous and the snow plentiful. The hairiest moment was on the bus ride home, when we encountered an unexpected squall and whiteout conditions north of the city.

All survived though, with some stiff muscles and a new appreciation for the finer arts of slipping and sliding.  Thanks to all who came out, and to ISX for putting on the tour and making sure we got there and back in one piece!
