What’s It About: Based on Kota Ishii’s non-fiction account, Ryoichi Kimizuka’s Reunion chronicles a city’s attempt to deal with an overwhelming number of victims in the wake of the March 11 tsunami. The film movingly depicts a middle-school turned temporary morgue in Kamaishi City and the city workers, doctors and volunteers who dealt with the victims, identifying the remains and returning them to their bereaved families.
