JETAA’s ever popular Speaker Series is back! This time, we’ve invited film director Eri Asai to come and talk to us about some of her works and directing in general. There will be a screening of two of her short films, followed by an informal Q&A session. One of her films, Momiji, is being screened at the Toronto Reel Asian International Festival. If you missed your chance to watch Ms. Asai’s short film at Reel Asian, the Speaker Series night is the perfect chance to catch up!

About Eri Asai:
Eri Asai is a Japanese born director, writer and editor who is now based in Toronto. After working in Japan for several years, she migrated to Canada and studied film at York University. Her short film, Stray Dogs (2012),was screened at Montreal International Film Festival in August. Her film, Momiji (2012), was screened at Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival in November. Her short documentary, August 6, 1945, received the TVO telefest award in 2000 and was screened at ISEA (The Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts) 2002 in Japan. She is the mother of twin girls, who are actors in Stray Dogs and Momiji.
